Explicit Runway Crossing Procedure Change • Beginning June 30, 2010, controllers will be required to issue explicit instructions to cross or hold short of each runway that intersects a taxi route. • "Taxi to" will no longer be used when issuing taxi instructions to an assigned take-off runway. • Instructions to cross a runway will be issued one at a time. Instructions to cross multiple runways will not be issued. An aircraft or vehicle must have crossed the previous runway before another runway crossing is issued. • This applies to any runway including inactive or closed runways. • Changes will also be made to the AIM and AIP to reflect the new procedures. • Never cross a hold line without explicit ATC instructions. If in doubt ASK! • Reminder: You may not enter a runway unless you have been: instructed to cross that specific runway; cleared to take off from that runway; or instructed to position and hold on that specific runway. For more information on the change, refer to FAA Order N JO 7110.532, which can be found at: http://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/Notice/N7110.532.pdf For additional information, go to http://www.faa.gov/go/runwaysafety

 Forum Rules Minimize
Please always follow these rules when posting in our forums.

General Posting Rules:
  • No swearing of any kind. This includes vulgar as well as obscene words. Using symbols instead of letters does not exempt your message from this requirement. You may "Dagwood" swear like what is used in comics. Just blanking, ***ing, or using symbols to obscure part of a vulgar word is not okay. Messages that don't meet this requirement will be edited or deleted at the moderator's discretion. Continued abuse of this will result in a 30-day account ban.
  • No flaming or attacking of other users. If you don't agree with someone, post why you think their argument is wrong. Calling them an idiot, moron, etc. doesn't advance your argument at all and will not be tolerated.
  • POST ON-TOPIC! There are many different forums available on WyomingPilots.Org with appropriate descriptions. Please post in the correct forum to be sure the right people see your message. Messages will be moved to the appropriate forum by moderators, but that takes up their valuable time.
  • Do NOT cross-post messages across multiple forums. Post in the more appropriate one for your topic. Duplicate posts will be deleted.
  • Do not use our forums to drum up support for a lawsuit, to harass a vendor/store of any kind, or to solicit support for any type of "cause". These forums are for technical discussions and are not to be used as your personal soapbox.
  • For Sale items, Wanted items, Classified Ads, etc. are to be posted only in the Classifieds section.

Specific Rules for Certain Forum Topics:
